If you follow us on Facebook (if you don’t, you really should), you have probably seen our teaser videos alluding to a new, exciting treatment. I am thrilled to say that I can finally announce what it is…
We are the first and only practice in the area to offer Sculpsure for Chin!
Yes, the same fat destroying treatment we have been successfully using to treat the abdomen, flanks, back, and thighs is now available to treat double chins. Imagine: stopping in on your lunch break for a session and heading right back to work with your coworkers none the wiser. No downtime, period.
How does it work? Just like Sculpsure for bodies, a laser handpiece is placed on the skin to heat up the underlying fat to a temperature that destroys the fat cells. Over the next 6-12 weeks your body’s lymphatic system will get to work flushing out the destroyed cells for good. To keep the laser firmly in place, you get to wear this crazy helmet that kind of makes you look like a fighter pilot (see my super cool picture below!) so there’s that to look forward to. And while it hasn’t been specifically studied or approved for skin tightening, the before and after photos are promising, to say the least!
One of the perks of this job is that I get to test out the new stuff first. As someone who has had a double chin since toddlerhood, I naturally volunteered myself for training. How was it, you ask? Honestly, the treatment itself was kind of boring (note to self and all of you: bring something to read or a show to watch to help pass the time). It gets pretty toasty, but I have a pitifully low pain tolerance and I got through it just fine. I had some mild tenderness and swelling for about 10 days afterward, but it was the kind of swelling that no one else noticed unless I pointed it out. I’m only 2 weeks out from my first treatment, so stay tuned and I’ll update with some before and after photos around the end of the year.
