Why choose IPL hair removal?
The difference between traditional laser hair removal and IPL hair removal is that IPL is much less invasive, does not require recovery time, and has minimal discomfort.

Even though IPL allows for shorter treatment times it does not eliminate the need for multiple treatments as hair grows in different stages. This causes the need for 6 treatments or more depending on the body part, coarseness, and color of your hair and skin.

Is it permanent?
Most people enjoy permanent hair reduction, meaning that about 95% of hair will be eliminated. The heat and light destroy the follicle so it can no longer grow. However, hormone changes and different medicines can cause other hair follicles that were previously dormant to start new growth, as with any permanent hair removal system, and could require touch ups down the road.

How much does it cost and do I need more than one treatment?
Our prices vary based on the area treated and there are no consultation fees associated with the treatments. Because the hair follicle can only be destroyed while it is in the anagen phase of growth (still growing), and only about 10% - 30% of your hair is in this stage at any given time. So while you can see results after the first treatment, it usually takes 4 - 10 treatments to get the results you want by destroying the follicle while it is in the anagen phase.

How long does it take?
A treatment can last from 10 minutes for an upper lip, to a little over an hour for the upper and lower legs. Be sure to ask about your specific treatment so you can allow for enough time.

Will there be any downtime?
No, you may immediately return to your normal routine.

Instructions for before treatment:
For hair removal of the face, discontinue use of Accutane® for six months, Retin-A® for two weeks and glycolic acid and alpha-hydroxy acid products for a week before your treatment. Avoid sun and sunless tanning for four weeks. You cannot be treated while you have infections or sores in the area.

Instructions for after treatment:
Protect your skin with moisturizers and sunscreen. Cold compresses and steroid creams may be used as necessary. Avoid irritating your skin, and keep away from the sun and sunless tanners for a couple of weeks.
